Carolyn Irene Roberts passed away on July 27, 2025 at age 82. Born in Fort Wayne, IN in 1942, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. For her family, and so many who knew her, the pain of losing Carolyn is immense. The memories shared, over time, will attempt to fill the void of her passing. Carolyn was a steadfast believer in Jesus Christ and lived her life as Gods faithful servant. Her walk with God began at a young age when she heard his calling and accepted Jesus in her heart. From then on, until her last moments on earth, she pronounced her faith. She lived by His guidance which left an unforgettable and positive impact on her family, friends, and everyone she met. Carolyn wanted everyone to know of God’s unconditional and unwavering love.
Carolyn lived a beautiful life filled with family, friends, laughter, creativity, resilience, and awesome story telling. Carolyn married the love of her life and was married for 63 years. Early in her marriage, while raising her two daughters, Carolyn owned her own business doing upholstery, caning, and making wedding cakes. She had a gift for cooking, baking, and quilting. She worked at Parkview Hospital for 32 years. She was a sewing room supervisor and then became a psych tech at Parkview’s South Unit. She continued her education and became a registered nurse and worked for Parkview in the areas of oncology and IV team. Carolyn retired from Parkview and moved to St. Augustine, Florida in 2004. She loved living next to the ocean and her life in Florida. She joined a quilt club and continued to make the most beautiful quilts.
Carolyn deeply loved her family. She is survived by her husband, Edwin DeWayne Roberts; daughters Tanya Roberts and Katina (Mark) Petroff; granddaughters Amber (Vince) Konwinski, Ashley (Aaron) Wilson, Andrea (Dennis) Roberts, and Noelle Petroff; great grandchildren Jackson Konwinski, Alexander Konwinski, and Avery Wilson. She was preceded in death by her son Daren Roberts,: her parents, William and Letha (Shepherd) Eastes; brother, Bill Eastes, and sisters, Dorothy Eastes and Norma Eastes.
An ashes at sea memorial and celebration of life will be held on September 6, in St. Augustine, Florida, for immediate family.
The family requests memorials be sent to the Betty Griffin Center, in St. Augustine, Florida, in Carolyn’s honor.
