With hearts both broken and overwhelmingly proud, we celebrate the beautiful life of Carolyn Rose Hudec Yeaser Reszel — a woman whose love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family shaped generations.
Carolyn was born on February 6, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Alice and Joseph Hudec. From the very beginning, Carolyn possessed a quiet strength and warmth that would become the foundation of her life and legacy. She grew up in Cleveland and graduated from Orange High School in 1964, carrying with her the values of hard work, compassion, and dedication that would define her journey.
Carolyn’s greatest and most treasured role in life was being a mother. While she worked faithfully in office administration for more than 30 years, she would proudly tell anyone that her true calling and greatest accomplishment was raising her children. She poured every ounce of her heart into nurturing, guiding, and loving them with a fierce and unconditional devotion that never wavered.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 24 years, Gregory Reszel, whose companionship brought her deep joy and comfort. Carolyn’s legacy continues through her sons, Charles (Tammy) Yeaser Jr., Christopher (Sheila) Yeaser, and Christian Yeaser, as well as her stepson, Scott Reszel. Together, they carry forward her values, her strength, and her boundless capacity to love.
Carolyn was the proud and adoring grandmother of 14 grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Being “Nana / Grandma” was one of her greatest joys, and she embraced that role with unmatched pride, warmth, and devotion. Her love for her grandchildren was limitless, and her presence in their lives will forever be a source of comfort and guidance.
She is also survived by her brothers, Joseph (Linda) Hudec and James (Nancy) Hudec, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories and unbreakable family bonds.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved daughters, Catherine and Carolyn Yeaser, whose loss she carried with profound grace and quiet resilience, as well as the father of her children, Charles E. Yeaser, Sr. Though her heart endured unimaginable sorrow, Carolyn’s love for her family never faltered, and her strength became a source of inspiration to everyone who knew her.
Faith was a cornerstone of Carolyn’s life. She served as an organist and devoted member of St. Michael’s Church in Hicksville, Ohio, for more than 40 years. Through her music, she uplifted congregations, comforted hearts, and expressed her deep and abiding faith. Her presence in the church community was not just service — it was ministry, love, and dedication in its purest form.
Carolyn found joy in life’s simple but meaningful pleasures. She was known for her baking, often filling homes and hearts with warmth through her homemade treats. She lovingly tended her garden, finding peace and pride in nurturing beauty from the earth. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Her commitment to serving others extended far beyond her family and church. Carolyn volunteered for more than 20 years at Hicksville Hospital, quietly and selflessly giving her time to comfort and support those in need. She also shared lifelong sisterhood and friendship as a proud member of Sigma Phi Gamma for over 30 years, forming bonds that enriched her life and the lives of those around her.
Carolyn’s life was a testament to selfless love, unwavering faith, and the extraordinary impact of a mother’s heart. She taught those who knew her how to love deeply, persevere through hardship, and find joy in caring for others. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched, every lesson she taught, and every memory she helped create.
Though her family’s hearts ache in her absence, they find comfort and immense pride in knowing they were blessed to be loved by such a remarkable woman. Her love was a guiding light, and it will continue to shine through her children, grandchildren, family, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
