Carol Annette Tyndall, 87, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026.
Carol lived a full and meaningful life defined by curiosity, compassion, and a deep love for her family and community. A lifelong learner, she was a proud graduate of Butler University and carried her passion for knowledge into both her career and personal life.
She dedicated her time and talents to organizations that uplifted others, including the Camp Fire Girls, the YWCA, Tri Kappa, PEO, and Lincoln Life. Later, she shared her love of learning as a math teacher at Ivy Tech, where she inspired students with both her patience and enthusiasm.
Carol found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an enthusiastic fan of college basketball, especially her beloved Butler Bulldogs. She loved to sing with Sweet Adelines, filling rooms with harmony and friendship, and found peace and creativity in knitting. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was an active and devoted member of Plymouth Congregational Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Tyndall-Rawlings, and her son-in-law, Robert Rawlings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oral F. Ice and Faye E. Ice, and her brother, Thomas C. Ice.
Carol will be remembered for her gentle spirit, humor, and the love she so freely gave to those around her. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched through her kindness, her teaching, and her unwavering dedication to family and community.
A service to celebrate Carol’s life will be held at Plymouth Congregational Church on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The calling will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m., with a reception to follow.
