Carol Joan (Wayer) Hemsoth, 87, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Parkview Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born to the late Phillip and Madonna (Lonis) Wayer in Fort Wayne on October 4, 1937. She graduated from New Haven High School in 1955. Carol was a waitress at Hall's for over 45 years. Before Carol was a waitress, she was a childcare provider for countless kids. She loved playing bingo, going to the beach and the casino. Carol's children and grandchildren were a big part of her life.
Carol is survived by her children, Scott Hemsoth, Mark Hemsoth, Debra (Ken) Gaffer, Robert (Kathy) Hemsoth, David (Lisa) Hemsoth, James (Cheryl) Hemsoth, Mindy (Ken) Williams and Angela (Jeff) Hemsoth; grandchildren, Gabriel, Bethany, Brittney, Heather, Joshua, Aubrey, Christopher, Corey, Allycia, Chesney, Austin, Chad, Locke, Alexandra, Caden, Skye, Autumn, Mandy, Katrina, Kyle, and Jared; 30 great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis McKee; and brother, Pete Wayer; and a host of relatives and friends. Along with her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her grandson, Josh.
A memorial service will be on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 6:00 pm with visitation two hours prior at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46825). Her service will be livestreamed on the funeral home's Facebook page.
