Carol Gear, age 71, passed away Saturday, June 1st, 2024, in Auburn. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Jack and Mary Gear. Carol received her master's degree from Indiana University and dedicated her career to teaching. She started her teaching career at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota and retired at Riverdale Elementary after 37 years of teaching. She found joy in being the secretary and treasurer for Delta Kappa Gamma for several years. Carol enjoyed watching the Hallmark channel and collecting antiques. She had a strong love for her family, and her many dogs she cared for over the years. Carol is survived by her three brothers, John (Donna) Gear, Mark Gear, and Dale Gear; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Carl, and great-nephew Christopher. A memorial service will be officiated by Carol's nephew, Pastor Jason Gear, and will be held 11am, Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N.
