Obituary

On Monday, January 15, 2024, the Lord called Carlotta Elia Wilson, 87, Home to be with Him. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. Born in Cotulla, Texas, Carlotta was a daughter of the late Ygnacio and Carlota Moreno. Carlotta lived in Grabill with her granddaughter Victoria (Brennan) Howard who had been taking great love and care of her for the past several years. Carlotta was a devoted mother to all five of her boys, and loving grandmother to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made her family her top priority and was always putting the needs of her family before her own. Carlotta was a strong, independent, hardworking woman full of life and always full of "sass" which brought laughter to anyone around. Carlotta loved listening to music and cooking for her family. If you stopped to visit Carlotta, you would leave with a full stomach and be sent with food to take home. In perfect health, Carlotta's ideal day was drinking coffee, eating sweets, going to garage sales and playing marbles. As she aged, her perfect day was waking up to coffee and cookies, watching her shows, spending time with her "Kitty Cat" Onyx and grand-dog Myiah and finishing the day off with a double cheeseburger and root beer float. Surviving are her sons, William (Marcella) Love, Edward (Shellie) Love, Anthony (Devonia) Love, Mark (Patricia) Love, Brandon Wilson; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, soon to be 22; siblings, Irma Rodriguez, Gloria Perez and Robert Moreno. Carlotta was preceded in death by her siblings, Fernando Moreno, Victor Moreno, Elma Garcia, Ygnacio Moreno, John Moreno and David Moreno. Service is 6 pm, Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Victory Life Church, 1502 Rose Avenue, New Haven, Indiana, with calling from 3 pm until the services. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice. FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements. The family would like to thank the staff at Heartland Hospice for the years of care, love, and compassion shown to their family. Special thank you to her nurses Lisa and Alicia for all of their care and love they provided.
