Bruce Alan Schlosser, 70, passed away on July 7, 2024, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born on April 22, 1954, in Garrett, Indiana, Bruce was known for his charming and witty personality. Bruce graduated from DeKalb High School in 1972 and attended Oakland City College on track and basketball scholarships. He dedicated his career to public service as a civil servant, demonstrating his commitment to his community throughout his life. He worked as a plant supervisor at the Auburn and Garrett wastewater treatment plants. He was also proud of his time as a volunteer firefighter for the City of Auburn.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Bruce was a man of deep faith. His unwavering belief and spiritual strength were a guiding light in his life, earning him the respect and admiration of all who knew him. He was an impressive athlete, excelling in almost every sport he participated in. He was an avid golfer and loved spending his time on the links. Bruce played in several leagues, winning numerous club and individual championships at Garrett Country Club. He enjoyed engaging in good-humored banter with friends and family and was always ready with a joke and a smile. His sense of humor touched everyone he met.
Bruce is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Cindy Schlosser; daughter, Lynne (Nicholas) Smith; grandson, Parker Smith; son, Brice (Ashley) Schlosser; stepson, Michael (Rachael) Ulm; grandchildren, Jesse and Selah Ulm; siblings, Brenda Owens, Greg (Jenny) Schlosser, Susan (Leonard) Pogue, Beth (Jerrod) Blake; the mother of his children, Lorna Schlosser; parents-in-law, Wayne and Sue Michael; siblings-in-law, Alan (Katrina) Michael, Randy (Frieda) Michael, Susan Michael, and Tom (Connie) Michael; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ned and JoAnn Schlosser, and brother-in-law, Mark Michael.
Bruce's life was filled with laughter, love, and service, impacting all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his laugh and good-natured orneriness.
Visitation for Bruce will be held on Friday, July 12, from 5:00-8:00 p.m., and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 13, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation an hour before the service all at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton, Fort Wayne, IN, 46825. Service to be officiated by Wayne Michael.
