Billy G. Long, 72, of Ossian, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Jodie Richmond and Daisy Pearl (Jackson) Long in Fort Wayne on December 9, 1953. Billy married Sharon Miller on October 31, 1973 in Fort Bragg, NC. Billy proudly served in the US Army from 1971 to 1978. He owned and operated his own business. He was a life-long member and past commander of the American Legion Post 241. Billy enjoyed music and loved his family.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sharon; daughter, Laycie (Jeff) Dunning; grandchildren, Sierra (Courtney) Johnson, Patrick Vanlandingham, Riley Dunning, and Elizabeth Dunning; brother, Joe (Janet) Long; brother-in-law, Gary Grant; and a host of relatives and friends. Billy was preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie Grant and great-grandson, Cade Johnson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the American Legion Post 241 (7605 Bluffton Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rileys Children’s Hospital or Norwell High School Show Choir.
