Beverly A. Nichols, age 80, passed away peacefully August 17, 2022. Bev was born Oct 12, 1941 to the late Vivian & Wendell Haggerty. She grew up in Findlay, OH before moving to Woodburn, IN in the early 1970's. Bev met her husband of 43 years, Gary at a Parents without Partners dance and they were inseparable! They married November 25, 1978. Between the two of them, they had 8 children. Bev was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Spending most of her life as a stay-at-home mother, she took a short break to work as a lunch lady at Woodburn Elementary where she met some of her best friends. Bev always loved being creative and doing crafts. A very active member of Woodburn Missionary Church, she was best known for using her skills to make numerous costumes for various church plays. She and Gary even made a spitting camel for the Christmas play one year! She loved to travel and spend time with family at Lake Erie. Bev is survived by her husband, Gary; children David (Terry) Smith of Lafayette, IN, Tina Huber of Omaha,NE, William (Edid) Smith of Omaha, NE, Kellie (Al) Walker of Fort Wayne, Gregory Nichols of Grimes, IA, and Larissa (Jason) Baker of Fort Wayne; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; brothers Bob (Jane) Haggerty of Deshler, OH, and Bill (Kim) Haggerty of Port Orange FL. She was proceeded in death by her first husband, William Smith, and step-sons, Gary Nichols Jr. & Grant Nichols. Service is 10:30 am, Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Woodburn Missionary Church, 5108 Bull Rapids Rd., Woodburn, IN 46797 with calling one hour prior. Calling also 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Monday, August 22, 2022 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. Burial at Diehl Cemetery.
