Betty Louise (Rombke) Trier, age 93, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2021. Betty was born on July 22, 1928, at her home in Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter of the late Howard and Mary Rombke.
Betty was a 1946 graduate of North Side High School. After high school, she attended Indiana University in Fort Wayne and worked at Lincoln Life. She was a very loving wife to Herbert P. Trier, M.D. Betty and Herbert spent 75 wonderful years together. They were married on March 17, 1951.
Betty was a devoted mother to her children, who adored her sense of humor, her kind and loving nature, and her organized and well run household. She loved the holidays with her family and spent countless hours cooking, baking, and preparing for them. Her family treasured her extraordinary Thanksgiving and Christmas turkey dinners, which she prepared for over 60 years.
Betty spent many years serving on the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Women's Committee. She enjoyed spending summers at Lake Wawasee with her family as well as gardening, sewing, knitting, and reading. She was friendly, gracious, and well-liked by all. She will be dearly missed.
Betty is survived by her husband, Herbert P. Trier, M.D. of Fort Wayne; her brother, Paul Rombke of Honolulu, Hawaii; her five children, son, Max Trier of Muncie, IN, daughter, Nancy Trier-Metzger (Dan) of Wichita, KS, son, Steve Trier of Fort Wayne, daughter, Janet (Mark) Daniel of Fort Wayne, daughter, Carolyn Trier of Fort Wayne. Betty is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Anastasia Metzger, Luke Metzger, Hannah (Derek) Magill, Michael Trier, Samantha Trier, Conrad Trier, Carmen (Daniel) Messenger, Estelle Daniel, Claire (Dan) Halluska, Sierra Daniel, Hope Daniel, Nicole LaRue, and Rachel LaRue; and her two great grandchildren, Theo Halluska and Arlo Halluska.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother James Rombke.
