Betty "Jo" Thomas, 76, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Golden Years Nursing Home. She was born to the late John and Louise (Van Cleave) Buchanan on October 13, 1947 in Monticello, IN. She graduated from Twin Lakes High School in Monticello, IN and then received her associates from the International Business College in accounting. Jo made her career in bookkeeping and management. She loved animals, crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader.

Jo is survived by her life partner, Danny McGlothlin of Fort Wayne; children, Steven (Carey) Thomas of Churubusco, Cory Thomas of Fort Wayne, Jennifer Thomas of Fort Wayne, and Erinn (Jeremy) Schmidt of Avilla; grandchildren, Nicholas, Ava, Stella, Carter, Carlea, Olivia, Gionna, Sawyer, Elyse, and Vivyenne; one great-grandchild; her dog, Pepper; and sister, Mary L. Buchanan of Monticello. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Raymond W. Thomas and her half-sister, Deanna Wilkerson.

Upon Jo's wishes, there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Fort Wayne or The Alzheimer's Association.
