On May 3, 2025, Betty Jewel Scott left Fort Wayne, Indiana and went to heaven, where she will celebrate her 80th birthday with the Lord and her beloved husband of 50 years, Richard Scott.
Betty was born on May 6, 1945, in Huntington, Indiana, to Emma Irene Dunn and Dartmouth Beady. They, along with her brothers Marvin, DeWayne, and Larry Beady, and her daughter Michelle, will celebrate her birthday in heaven this year.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Ina) Scott; daughter, Hilary Scott; sister, Shirley Sills; brother, Glen (Judy) Beady; six grandchildren; hundreds of nieces and nephews; and thousands of friends who loved her will celebrate her life here on earth.
She worked for Airway/Target from 1970 to 1982, after which she joined HWI, where she made many lifelong friends. She remained there until her retirement in 2007, after 25 years of dedicated service.
Betty had a deep love for IU basketball and Christmas decorations—especially snowmen, which she often left up year-round. However, she was most known for her kind and loving heart and her generous spirit.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
