Obituary

Betty Jean Schiffbauer (Bradley), age 95, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on March 31st, 2026.
Betty was born on August 5th, 1930, in Sumner County, Tennessee, to Mabel and Oliver Bradley. She later made her home in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and quiet devotion.
Betty shared a beautiful love story with her husband, Albert Schiffbauer. They were married for 70 years before his passing in 2021, and their marriage was marked by deep affection, steadfast commitment, and genuine friendship. Their love was evident to all who knew them. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert, and her daughter, Sally Mills.
Betty worked at Guardian Photo, where she was a dedicated employee for 22 years before retiring. She enjoyed her work and took pride in being part of the team.
Betty was a devoted mother to Susan, Matt (Sharon), and Sally. Her grandchildren, Holly, Kelly, Amy, Ashley, Lauren, Lindsay, and Kristin, were a great source of joy in her life, as were her 17 great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved dearly.
She is also survived by her loving siblings, her sister Teri, and her two brothers, Ralph and Jimmy, along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
She was a faithful Christian and attended St. Joe United Methodist church. Her faith was an important part of who she was. She found comfort and strength in church fellowship, enjoyed attending women’s day trips, and quietly lived out her beliefs through kindness and generosity.
Betty found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved knitting, baking for her family, solving crossword puzzles and other brain teasers, and tending to her flowers and houseplants. She could often be found watching the ducks and birds, appreciating the peaceful rhythms of nature. She had a special fondness for the color pink, especially during the holidays, which she loved celebrating. Betty was known for her thoughtful gift-giving and the way she made others feel remembered and cherished.
Though she had a quiet, observant personality, her laughter was contagious. When she laughed, everyone around her wanted to laugh along. Her gentle presence, steady love, and faithful spirit will be deeply missed.
While her family grieves over her passing, they take comfort in knowing that her faith sustained her throughout her life and that she now rests in peace.
The family will hold a private memorial service to honor and celebrate Betty’s life.
Memorials in her name may be made to Parkview Hospice or St. Joe United Methodist Church. FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.
