Betty June King, 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Sunday, January 20, 2019. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Betty was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Freda Webber. Betty earned her bachelors degree in music. She married Ross King in Wheaton, Illinois on August 18, 1951. Betty was a music teacher at Bryan University, Bloomington Middle and High Schools, and Wilson School. She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and past member of American Guild of Organist. She played organ for over 6000 church services. Surviving are her husband Ross King of Fort Wayne; children, Stanley (Barbara) King of Lombard, IL, LaVonne Dolliver of Plano, TX, Marilynn (Stephen) Courtney of Hebron, IN, Kathryn King of Oaxaca City, Mexico, Barbara (Randall) Schamp of Arvada, CO, Carole King of Butler, PA; grandchildren, Ryan Courtney, Adam Courtney, Joy Meyer, Rachel Dreiding, Elise Percival, Alaric Dolliver, Lauren Irizarry, Keith King, Dr. Josephine Schamp, Mariah Thiessen; 7 great-grandchildren, siblings, Arthur Webber, and Rev. Dr. William Webber. Betty was preceded in death by her granddaughter Alexandria Courtney; siblings, Leroy Webber, James Webber, and Janet Pillsbury. Service is 11 am, Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Ascension Lutheran Church with calling one hour prior. Calling at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, Friday, January 25, 2019 from 2pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. Burial at Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church Organ Fund or Ascension Lutheran School Endowment Fund.
