Barry Lee Horman, age 79, passed away August 3, 2018 at his home in Fort Wayne. He was born in Fort Wayne to the late Herbert Horman and Betty Prange. Barry served as a Police Officer for a total of 36 years. He rose through the ranks throughout his career to deputy chief, retiring in 1999. Prior to moving back to Fort Wayne three years ago, he enjoyed his place at Coldwater Lake where he loved to boat, and spend time with family and friends. He also enjoyed woodworking in his garage. He is survived by his wife, Rose Horman of Fort Wayne; his children, Cynthia (Robert) Biddle of Palm Bay, FL, Mark Horman of Lake City, FL, and Michael Horman of Belle Isle, FL; step-children, Tina (Richard) Griffith of Fort Wayne, Carla (Don) Patnoude of Fort Wayne, Gene (Allison) Mutton of Oviedo, FL, and Tonya Durnell of Fort Wayne; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother Randy (Linda) Prange, and sister, Karen Powers both of Florida. Service is 3:00 pm, Saturday, August 18, 2018 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton, with calling beginning at 12:00 noon until time of service.
