Barbara Ann McDowell, 76, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024. She was born to the late Donald and Mary (White) Beaty on December 18, 1947 in Fort Wayne. She retired as a nurse from the Byron Health Center after 25 years. Barbara loved to garden, being outdoors, to babysit the kids in the family, her cat, Butterscotch, and shopping at Wal-Mart. She was a kind, dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Barbara is survived by her children, Amy McDowell of Chicago, IL and Anthony McDowell of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Stone McDowell, Breeze McDowell, Breia Connett, and Chantal Carper; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth Beaty and Pamela Beaty; nephews and nieces, Neil, Brian, Kalem, Ashley, and Tashara Beaty; and several friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Lisa McDowell; children, Rodney and Kimberly McDowell; and sister-in-law, Debbie Beaty.

Upon the family's wishes, there will be no services.
