Barbara Jean Eagleson, 68, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on April 2, 2026.
She was born on October 29, 1957, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Duane and Jean McQueen (Ensley).
Barbara was a 1976 graduate of South Side High School. Throughout her life, she worked as a mortgage underwriter at Waterfield and later worked at Sandpoint Greenhouse, where she enjoyed being surrounded by flowers and plants. She especially enjoyed gardening and caring for flowers.
She was a devoted and involved mother, never missing a single one of her daughter Alex’s golf matches and always showing up in support—whether as a team mom, helping with activities, or organizing fundraisers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and the simple moments in life. Being “Grammie” was her favorite role.
Barbara was a beloved and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She shared 38 years together with her husband, John, including 28 years of marriage.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her. Her presence, support, and love will be carried on through her family for generations to come.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, John Eagleson, and her parents, Duane and Jean McQueen (Ensley).
She is survived by her daughter, Alexandra (Anthony) Pastre, and her grandchildren, Mason, Letty, and Knox; and by her stepdaughters, Angela (Robert) Eagleson-Schmidt, granddaughters Kenzi and Rylee, and Theresa (Bradley) Godwin, grandsons Ben and Colin. Barbara is further survived by her brothers, Jeffrey and Douglas McQueen.
Funeral services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4500 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46807, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. A meal will be held at the church following the Mass.
Memorial donations may be given to St. John's Performing Arts, or Bishop Luers Golf.
