Avril L. Christensen, 95, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2024. Born in Kezar Falls, Maine, Avril was a daughter of the late Frederick and Nellie (Stacy) Hammond Sr. During her working years, Avril worked mostly bookkeeping for several firms until her retirement. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and was always up for playing cards. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and caring grandma to her family. Surviving are her sons, Dain (Deborah) Christensen, Robert Christensen; 3 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; 1 niece and 1 nephew. Avril was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Christensen; daughter-in-law, Patricia Christensen; siblings, Jacqueline Emmons and Frederick Hammond Jr. Service is 2 pm, Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 3435 Engle Road Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior.
