Anthony Lee Heidrich, age 80, of Fort Wayne, passed away on March 26, 2025, after a long illness. His life was a legacy of love, compassion and unwavering faith.
Anthony, "Tony" was born on June 28, 1944, to Charles Henry Heidrich and Mable Pauline Schmitt in Fort Wayne, Indiana. After graduating from North Side High School in Fort Wayne, IN in 1963, he joined the Navy and honorably served on the USS Aldebaran and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.
After serving our country honorably in the Navy, he worked at General Telephone Company (G.T.E)/Verizon. He retired from Verizon after a 40-year career.
Anthony was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Mable Heidrich of Fort Wayne, IN.
He is remembered forever as a beloved husband and a cherished father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lori Moore-Heidrich; his daughter, Kimberly (Heidrich) Cameron; three grandchildren, Connor Cameron, Chandler Salway and Madison Salway; and two great-grandchildren, Ares and Luna Tracey of Auburn, IN.
The family will be holding a private memorial service on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or Heartland Hospice of Ohio, both organizations Tony felt strongly about.
