Obituary

Anthony Allen “Tony” Amstutz, 61, went to his heavenly home by the grace of his Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Tony was a son of the late Donald and Gloria (Panning) Amstutz.

Tony graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School, class of 1983, where he played tennis, baseball, and basketball. He continued playing tennis at IPFW, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science. Tony began his career working in IT at DuCharme, McMillen & Associates, Inc. He later served as Director of Ministry at Promise Ministries for eight years before becoming a real estate agent with Granite Ridge Builders and Century 21 Bradley.

On July 13, 1991, Tony married the love of his life, Stacy Brost. Together, they unconditionally supported the activities and dreams of their three children while emphasizing the importance of faith in all aspects of life. Tony’s faith in the Lord was steadfast and evident in the way he lived his life. He was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where he served as Vice Head Elder and led adult bible studies. Tony also cherished his daily morning devotionals and time in God’s Word.

Tony loved coaching his children’s youth sports teams and later served as the varsity baseball coach at Wayne High School from 2017-2025. He also coached tennis at Concordia Lutheran High School and was a tennis pro at Wildwood Racquet Club. In these mentorship roles, Tony equipped his players with the fundamentals of the game and of life. He loved spending every moment of free time sharing his many hobbies—including watching St. Louis Cardinals games, riding motorcycles, piloting airplanes, operating ham radio, and listening to vinyl records—with his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Stacy Amstutz; children, Jacob (Alexis) Amstutz, Drew Amstutz, and Katie (Calvin Grzan) Amstutz; brother, James (Shianne) Amstutz; and the family’s beloved dog, Zoey.

Service begins at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., with calling one hour prior. Visitation will take place on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana. FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.
