Obituary

Ann Marie Holmes NEE Dobbertien, 69, of Monroeville, IN, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. She was born May 10, 1957 to the late Henry L. Dobbertien and Rita A. Pinger in Battle Creek, MI. She attended St. Phillips Catholic School, graduated 1975. She attended KCC in Battle Creek, MI and graduated with an LPN. She worked at Leila Hospital from 1977-1989 and then moved to Fort Wayne. She was happily married to the love of her life, Jim A. Holmes on March 5, 1977. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, time at the lake and spending time with her grandchildren. Her Catholic faith and trust in God aided her throughout her life’s journey.

Ann is survived by her amazing husband of 49 years; daughters, Janet Kemp, Kimberly (Greg) Graham, and Laura (Taylor) Rich; and ten grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant son, Andrew James Holmes.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church (15535 Lincoln Highway East, New Haven, IN 46774) at 12:00 pm with visitation one hour prior. Please wear green or floral shirts to her funeral mass. A rosary service will be at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46825) at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 with visitation immediately following from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A private family burial will be at Assyria Township Cemetery in Bellevue, MI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kate’s Kart, Inc, Breastie Boxes, or Parkview Transformative Cancer Care Fund.
