Obituary
Andrew "Andy" Peterschmidt, 65, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025.
Andy was born in Fort Wayne and spent over 40 years in the flooring industry. He worked as an installer and later as a service manager, earning respect throughout the field for his experience, expertise and work ethic.
He loved Colorado, the mountains, skiing, white-water rafting, and mostly spending time with his late wife, Jean Becker Peterschmidt whom he proudly met at the VIP Bar and Grill. They shared a deep connection and a lot of great times together. They loved having fun and a few drinks.
Andy is survived by his daughter Deedra (Patrick) Strater Schoudel, granddaughter Kassidi (Tony) VanAllen Norris, two great granddaughters Charlie and Raegan Norris and a long list of friends, neighbors, and coworkers he shared life with over the years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Micheal Peterschmidt, and his parents Dennis "Pete" Peterschmidt and Barbara Britton. Surviving siblings include Mark (Sheli) Peterschmidt, Matthew (Dorothy) Peterschmidt, Kristin (Ken) Miner and eight nieces and nephews.
Andy didn't ask for attention or fuss. He asked for things to be done simply, practically, and with heart and those wishes were honored completely. His life and legacy were marked not by grand displays, but by genuine presence and loyalty that often goes unseen but means the most. There will be no formal service. Family and friends are invited to raise a glass and remember Andy in the way he'd prefer—with a good drink and some good conversation.
