Obituary
Amelita "Amy" Jimenez Larimer, age 64 of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed peacefully in the arms of her family at 9:23 am Sunday, October 5th, 2025. She was born December 28th, 1960 in Manila, Philippines to Adoracion Kahiwat and Rodolfo Jimenez. Amy studied at The University of the Philippines in Manila and wore many hats professionally – from nursing while living in Saudi Arabia to various administrative roles during her later years in the United States. Amy married her soulmate in 1990 and moved to Chicago to start a family with Phil Larimer. Áté ("Big Sister" in Tagalog) Amy will be remembered for her big heart and serendipitous spirit. She embodied the idea of "malasakit" (a cultural Filipino ideal to care for something or someone as though they were your own) nurturing those she loved near and far. Sharing was sacred to her. Amy's interests included: traveling, cooking, collecting trinkets and shoes, small dogs, gardening and disco music. She leaves behind a legacy of moving with love and a joyous approach to life.
Amy is survived by her husband Phillip Larimer, daughter Holli (Larimer) Simmons, son Beau Larimer, daughter Jade Larimer, her two grandchildren Jackson Simmons, Madison Simmons and her five siblings. Preceded in death by her son Zane Larimer and her mother Adoracion Jimenez.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 19th, 2025, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at Moody Park (1228 Wilt St, Fort Wayne, IN 46802).
