Rev. Allen E. Parks, 84, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Monday, January 31, 2022. Born in Ulysses, NE, Allen was the son of the late Charles and Ann Parks. Allen earned his Master's in Divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. He served as a pastor in Michigan for 25 years at Trinity Lutheran Church in Newberry and Grace Lutheran in Germfask. Allen finished his Pastoral Care at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne after 14 years. Allen enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and snacking on sweets. He loved his family and cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Marilyn Parks; children, Denise (Tim) Gendron, Doug (Sandi) Parks; grandchildren, Tim (Amanda) Parks, Ben Parks, Zach Gendron; great-grandchildren, Reyna, Caiden; and sisters, Rita (Jim) Trimble, and Shelley (Mike) Freudenburg. Service is 2 pm, Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 8811 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. Masks are requested. Entombment in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
