Alice Shields Johnson, age 65, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2024, in Fort Wayne, IN, surrounded by family.

Alice found joy in so much of life. She loved to cook, garden, volunteer, and most of all spend time with those she loved. She had a fierce and thoughtful heart, and was motherly to all around her.

Her favorite flower was a sunflower, which symbolizes strength, loyalty, and happiness - all attributes of Alice. She will be remembered for who she was, hardworking, beautiful, brave and caring. She was always thinking of others.

Her family was her priority and she loved nothing more. She was often referred to as the "glue" that kept everyone together. Whether it was planning annual family trips to the beach, creating special holiday traditions, or just being there to hold someone together when they felt like falling apart, Alice always put her family first.

She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend to many. She will be terribly missed. Alice is survived by her children, Maxwell Johnson, Emily (Taylon) Wait, Carly Johnson, Alexis Johnson; siblings, Lilli D'Agostaro, Lisa (Richard) DeRuvo, and Richard (Rachel) Shields, along with numerous extended family members whom she loved and who loved her. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Shields, mother, Dorothea Gross, and brother, John Shields.
