Obituary

Alice Fay DeAngelo, 80, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024. Born in Wyandotte, Michigan, on June 10, 1944, Alice was a daughter of the late Warren Everett and Mary Margaret (Hall) Kurtz. Alice was an avid crocheter, antique collector, reader, and she loved to travel. She met and married Don after they were coworkers in the US Post Office. Alice stopped working to raise her family until the nest was nearly empty. For her, family always came first. Alice was a true matriarch. Her wisdom and counsel were always welcomed and sought after.

As a young girl Alice enjoyed horseback riding. In high school she was a member of the band along with her sister Barb. In her later years she volunteered her time driving cancer patients to appointments. Alice donated hand-made blankets to Project Linus. She was an avid cat lover. Her favorites were Yin and Yang (brother and sister) and Molly and Dolly (sisters).

Alice is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Don, and her four children: Kimberly (Doug) Johnson, Scott (Donna) DeAngelo, Chris (Debbie) DeAngelo, Jennifer (Nick) Gilman. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: David (Heidi) Johnson, Tim DeAngelo, Derek Johnson, Paul (Kayla) DeAngelo, Dominic DeAngelo, Mark (Kelly) Johnson, Cole Gilman, Rachel DeAngelo, Kevin (Gabrielle) Johnson, Alex Gilman, and her four great grandchildren: Abby, Ava, Riley, and Silas.

Alice was close to her siblings. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Karen (Bill) Foster and is survived by her brother Ted (Christine) Kurtz of Grass Valley, California and her twin sister Barbara (Mike) Kelley of Newaygo, Michigan.
