Obituary
Alan "Al" Lee Martin, 75, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 with his loving wife and family at his side. He was born to the late Gordon A. Martin Sr. and Gladys Mae (McClish) Martin on May 9, 1950 in Lebanon, IN. Al proudly served in the US Marines and US Navy. Al married Vanessa on March 14, 2014. He received his bachelor's degree in art at IPFW and was very talented in pottery, arts, and graphics. He managed the IPFW Student Art Gallery Downtown and was featured in the Fort Wayne Magazine. Al retired from Brunswick as a welder. After retirement, Al worked at Sportsmen Warehouse. He enjoyed playing guitar and his kitties.
Al is survived by his loving wife, Vanessa; children, Teri (Jeff) Gallup, Christina Cekander, and Catherine Martin; step-children, Marissa (Evan) Pinkerton and Daniel Grush; grandchildren, Dustin (Heaven) Jackson, Joshua Cekander, Jayden Cekander, Aiva Gallup, Gracie Gallup, Alec Dimke, and Mitchell (Sarah) Dimke; step-grandchildren; Keyan Pinkerton, Elissa Pinkerton, and Preston Grush; and great-grandchildren, Elyona Jackson, Corlina Jackson, Isaiah Dimke and Ezekiel Dimke; Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gordon A. Martin Jr; granddaughter, Alexis Dimke; step-son, Jason Grush.
A graveside service will be held at Marion National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Fort Wayne.
