Obituary

Adrien D'Shon Carey "AC" "Boogie", 22, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on July 29, 2003, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, AC was the beloved son of Angela Carey.
From an early age, AC developed a love for video games. What began as a hobby quickly became a true passion as he immersed himself in the gaming world. He especially loved first-person shooter games, with Call of Duty on PlayStation being his favorite. He dreamed of one day becoming a video game programmer while also building a following as an online influencer, sharing gameplay, strategies, and the hidden "Easter eggs" and secrets he loved discovering.
AC graduated from The Crossing, a place that, alongside the love and guidance of his family, helped shape him into the remarkable young man so many came to know and love.
While he enjoyed gaming, nothing meant more to AC than his family. He treasured every family cookout, especially when his uncle's famous ribs were on the menu. His presence had a way of lighting up every gathering, but perhaps nothing was more memorable than his legendary bear hugs. They were warm, genuine, and heartfelt—making everyone who received one feel loved, comforted, and important. It was simply who AC was.
He was employed as a Dietary Aide at Arbor Glen Assisted Living, where his caring nature and friendly personality made him a favorite among residents and coworkers alike.
Despite facing tremendous challenges throughout his illness, AC demonstrated remarkable strength, courage, and faith. He never allowed cancer to define him. Instead, he continued to love deeply, laugh often, and encourage those around him with his resilient spirit and infectious smile.
AC will be remembered as a devoted son, a loving brother, a proud grandson, a fun-loving uncle, a cherished nephew, and a loyal friend. His kind heart, gentle spirit, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
Surviving are his mother, Angela Carey; step-father, Walter Arrington; father, D'Andre Walker; great-grandmother, Mary Kemp, grandparents, Richard (Dori) Carey, Gloria Walker; siblings, A'Ishah Carey, Kyler McHenry, Mondre Walker, and Khalil Walker; aunts and uncles, Cecil (Andrea) Hazelwood, Amanda Parker, Jason Parker, Katrina Shelton, three nieces; three nephews; along with many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
AC was preceded in death by his great-grandma and great-grandpa, Ralph (Mary Lou) Elett, great-grandpa, Richard L. Carey, great-grandpa, David Kemp and grandpa Jake Turner II.
A Celebration of AC's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling also on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
