Adam Joseph Connelly, 60, of Fort Wayne, IN went home to be with his beautiful Savior February 25, 2025 surrounded in song and prayer by his loved ones.
Adam was born on May 12, 1964, the youngest of Dr. Richard and Helen (Rozgony) Connelly's four sons. After graduating in 1983 from Snider High School he furthered his education at IPFW with a degree in biology and chemistry. He was baptized at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, where he married the love of his life, Wendy (Beck) and gained 2 daughters and 2 sons.
Adam was industrious, full of knowledge and a risk-taker. Never one to follow directions ("that's just another man's opinion") he was always inventing ways to work better. His vast background and experiences in various jobs in the industrial machinery arena led him to establish his own business in 2012 – Red Earth Industrial, the name derived from the Hebrew meaning of Adam- Man of the Red Earth.
Adam grew up spending weekends on his family's 30-acre farm where he and his 3 older brothers discovered the wonders of God's creation, collected and identified various bugs, moths and butterflies, tended a large garden, and planted 10,000 walnut trees. Those experiences shaped Adam's character and skill into the man we loved and adored. With great care he stewarded our 40 acres of wooded land in Michigan. And it wasn't long before you would be invited up to the property to cut trees, drive a skid steer, camp, shoot a gun, burn some brush or have an off-grid stay at the "Love Shack". He loved to provide opportunities to work and build and be still in the woods and was especially blessed when his kids and their friends enjoyed their time on his Michigan land.
Again and again his physical strength, steady character, strong work ethic, trustworthy spirit, sacrificial ways, heart of integrity, and deep faith surfaced! He was winsome with his wit and humor and led by example. He was a teacher at heart, inviting others into the experiences of learning and growing all the while instilling in them a confidence to try anything!
Adam was a simple man, most content having morning coffee with his wife, walking in the woods with his dog, working barefoot outside while tending his garden, organizing tools in the garage with all varieties of music blasting from classical to country, and always with a cold beer in his hand in the midst of a hard days' work. He delighted in sharing a glass of wine with his dear Wendy as he grilled on the back porch while the sun was setting and often wondered why no one else was ever outside.
Neighbors, family and friends alike will miss spotting Adam in his red truck alongside his big hairy German Shepherd, Oz.
Adam was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Helen Connelly and brother Richard (Rick) Connelly Jr. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy to those who live on. His treasured wife, Wendy, and her children he loved so well, Emily, Connor, Caroline, and Will Bussick; brothers Rex (Kathy) Connelly and Brett (Debbie) Connelly; many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews who considered him a son, a brother, and an uncle in every way. He was so grateful to be a part of a family God knit together where love was so evident.
The family would like to thank all those God sent in this four year cancer journey who prayed, loved, and ministered in ways too numerous to count. Oh how beautiful the hands and feet of Jesus, or as Adam might say the "phalanges" of Jesus! Throughout their marriage Adam would often speak the words, "It's all good" and today it has never been more true that all is well with his soul! See ya soon, sweet man!
