Jarod Steffen, Funeral Director & Partner
Jarod has been a Funeral Director serving the Fort Wayne area for a decade. He became a Licensed Funeral Director in 2005. He is actively involved in his church community, the Leo Apostolic Christian Church, and also supports the Leo-Grabill Little League and Fort Wayne Rescue Mission. Jarod is an avid runner and supporter of local running events and fundraisers. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. “My father and grandfather owned a small-town, local business all of their lives,” Jarod said. “Their dedication to their community inspires me to believe that local businesses, when possible, are the best choice for the community.”
Mark Scheidt, Funeral Director & Partner
Mark has been a funeral director for 28 years, and he has a remarkable list of accomplishments and affiliations. He’s a member of the Gideons, the Pathway Community Church, and the YMCA. He has taught Sunday School for 20 years, and served as a youth leader for High School Men for a decade. On the more personal side, the father of four has been married for 30 years and is a grandfather of one. "I feel so fortunate to love what I do. I am permitted to serve and love my brothers and sisters in a time of brokenness and hurt. This is true ministry," Mark said recently. "Fort Wayne is our home. A city that continues to grow and change, but its traditional values and strong families remain the same."
Britton Claghorn, Funeral Director & Partner
Britton began his funeral service career in 2005 in Bluffton, Indiana. He graduated from Vincennes University with a degree in Funeral Services in 2007 and became a licensed Funeral Director in 2008. He spent over eight years with D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes as a Funeral Director and Manager. Britton is actively involved in the Apostolic Christian Church. He enjoys spending time outdoors taking care of his property, shooting, and being with his family. Britton and his wife Sarah have three boys, Kayden, Remington, and Kameron. "Being from a small town means that I will take care of your family like it was my own," he said recently. "I'm committed to building a lasting relationship and will do whatever I can to make your experience memorable and unique."
Lucas Glessner, Funeral Director & Partner
Lucas has been in the funeral business for 18 years and served Fort Wayne and the surrounding communities for 16 of those years. He was born in Indiana and raised just minutes north of Fort Wayne in Avilla. Lucas is happily married to his wife, Amber, and they have two children. “My desire is to bring personalized quality and affordable funeral service back to a locally owned and operated funeral home,” he said.
Amy Wade, Administration
Amy is a native of Fort Wayne and graduated from Snider High School. She has worked in the funeral business for 10 years, beginning at D.O. McCombs, where she first met her current colleagues. “I appreciate and am especially proud to be working with Jarod, Mark, Britton and Lucas again. It’s such a thrill to be re-united and able to provide truly local, family-owned funeral home service to Fort Wayne again. Their commitment and passion for serving the families is something we all share.” Amy volunteers at the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission when there is a need. In her spare time, the mother of six likes to fish, camp and hike. She loves to travel to small towns throughout Indiana just to explore somewhere new. Movies and board games with her children and grandchildren also rank high on her list. However, she adds, “My favorite thing is Sunday dinners with my family!”
